Nowhere in Africa

In 1938, the Jewish Redlich family flees from the Nazis and ends up in Kenya. There Walter, actually a lawyer, takes over a caretaker's post on a neglected farm. His wife Jettel initially refuses to accept the barrenness of the wooden hut as her new home, but their young daughter Regina enjoys this "adventure" and becomes close friends with the cook Owuor and the locals. Jettel also slowly begins to settle in. When the family is interned by the English, the war seems to have finally caught up with them - but Owuor follows them and with him a new chance "Nowhere in Africa".
